The best part of being a dad is watching my kids doing something right and knowing they learned it from watching me manage the struggles in my own life. Not just from the speeches they heard from me but from how I showed up for them when they needed it. Seeing them grow into their own people hits different. And when they handle life in ways I never directly taught and taking what I showed them and using it in the moment they needed it, that’s when fatherhood is the most rewarding.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad I can be because one day my kids will face their own struggles without me there to guide them. If they can take what they learned from watching me persevere through my own life struggles and use it in their moments, I know they'll be ready. I want them living with wisdom and integrity and becoming who they need to be for the next generation.
How would you use the $25,000?
With $25,000, I’d finally take my kids to Disney! It’s always been out of reach for us being a large family, and I want them to feel what it’s like to be there without seeing us stress over money or rushing through the day. I’d put at least $1k into each of their savings accounts, then use the rest for experiences we normally couldn’t do, taking on a new adventures or trip that builds real memories and brings us closer as a family.
