Being the dad I needed as a kid. My father provided by being gone Monday through Friday, so I grew up missing something I couldn't name. I broke that cycle. Now I walk through the door and my daughter runs for "snuggles and huggles," my son right behind her. That greeting is everything. Breaking a generational curse isn't loud. It looks like a kid who runs toward you instead of wondering where you are. I get that reward every single day.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because being a dad rewired me. Before my kids, I was more about self and my progress. Now my life is built around others, and I've never been more whole. I know what absence feels like, so I made a decision: the buck stops with me. My kids will never wonder where I am. And it's working. My son watches how I love my wife, and he goes out of his way to protect and provide for her and his sister. I'm not just raising kids. I'm breaking a cycle and building the next generation.
How would you use the $25,000?
It all goes to my children's futures. Whether it's their education, their first business, or whatever dream they choose to chase, I want to invest in who they're becoming. I've spent my life trying to give them more than I had, not in things, but in opportunity and presence. This would let me plant something that outlasts me, something my kids and their kids can always come back to. That's the whole reason I do any of this.
