This might be the hardest question I've ever been asked. The rewards of fatherhood are unpredictable, small moments that often go unnoticed until I look back. Watching my son hold his bottle on his own, seeing the way his smile makes a stranger's day at the store, or when he finally rests his head on my chest right before he falls asleep. It's nothing that he does for me, but simply getting to be a part of his story as his biggest fan and cheerleader. I truly just love watching him be him.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I want my son to know that I will always love him, always have his back, always be in his corner, and always support his dreams. The only way he will know those things is if I show up every day as the best dad I can be. When I'm exhausted, overwhelmed, stressed or drained, I remind myself that I only have 18 years to show him that he can count on me. To prove to him that his happiness is my number one priority. That's why I strive to be the best dad I can be every freaking day.
How would you use the $25,000?
First, I would hire a cleaning service to do a deep clean of the house. Then I'd use the rest to manufacture a full batch of a hair product I've formulated so I can turn it into a real business and set my family up for a better future. I want to have as much time together as possible while he's home, and I know the best way to do that is to buy back time for my wife and I. My dream is to be a full time father, part time entrepreneur and $25k could make that dream come true.
