The most rewarding part of being a dad has been seeing all of my children mature and become actively contributing members of society. They are self-sufficient, hard workers, practical thinkers, and are all successful in their lives and families. I see them sharing the “tasks” that I would have them do growing up, like working on their own cars, building things with their own hands, and able to do many things that many young adults don’t have the skill or the willingness to tackle.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be an example to my children so that they can take on tasks by themselves, be confident in their problem solving abilities, and be able to pass that down to their kids. My son has often told me how strict I was but he sees the importance of including kids in doing choirs and work around the house. He says he wants to do the same with his kids. That is all the reward I’ll ever need!
How would you use the $25,000?
I have a 1970 K5 Blazer that was my grandfather’s. It is in horrible shape. I would love to be able to put the $25,000 towards restoring that Blazer to be able to hand it down to my family when I am gone.
