The most rewarding part is watching my kids, Mills and Rutledge, discover the world and grow into curious, kind human beings. Whether we’re outside tending to the garden, exploring on a family trip, or just laughing together in the backyard, seeing genuine joy and pride on their faces beats everything. Being the steady anchor they can always count on while watching their individual personalities and confidence flourish every day makes every second worth it.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
As an educator, I see firsthand how deeply a present, supportive parent shapes a child's foundation. I want Mills and Rutledge to grow up knowing they are unconditionally loved, capable, and secure. I strive to lead by example, modeling patience, integrity, curiosity, and hard work in everyday life. My kids deserve my best energy and attention, and guiding them into thoughtful, confident people is the most important and meaningful work of my life.
How would you use the $25,000?
I’d invest the funds directly into our home and backyard to build an ultimate outdoor haven for our family. We’d expand our vegetable garden with permanent raised beds and drip irrigation to teach the kids how to grow their own food, build a dedicated workshop for weekend DIY projects, and upgrade our outdoor patio space. Investing in quality materials and tools would turn our yard into the central hub where Mills and Rutledge learn, work with their hands, and make memories.
