Getting to watch my girls grow into smart, strong and kind women is by far the most rewarding. I love the big moments in life, but it's the little moments where we're working on a project together or just hanging out around the dinner table or on the couch or around a campfire that really make me proud to be their dad. Knowing that they feel safe and loved and and that they show that to each other and their mom lets me know that we are doing at least a decent job of raising them.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because they deserve it. I sometimes feel that people think about their kids as an accessory or even closer to a pet. They are humans that trust me implicitly and I never want to let them down. Obviously I'm going to, but knowing that even in those moments where I fail, I can admit my faults and use it as a teaching moment helps me focus on being the best dad I can be. I want them to see someone who is strong and kind and considerate of others in myself.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use this money to help us finish the remodel of our house that we are in the middle of. A little. Over a year ago we discovered a really bad mold issue in the house we had lived in for 5 years. We have now been out of that house for over a year while we got it. Get it cleaned and build it back. Exactly how we want. Seeing them struggle with not having a place they can call home breaks my heart. I want to provide the best home possible to them. The money would help me do that.
