The most rewarding part of being a Dad is seeing the growth in your kids. Seeing that your sacrifice and lessons you pass on to them, come to fruition. They really are listening and watching. Its amazing to see them mimic you at times and see that they are catching the vision on being a good human being and caring for friends and neighbors in need.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
The most powerful thing you can do is be present! Saying no to other things, showing up at every game for my son and daughter. Seeing the need to put the phone down and just being there with them through the ups and downs of life. Make it my aim to be at every doctors appointment and hold my daughter through every scary moment. Remind them of who they are and who cares for them, and that we have hope despite how bad things look or feel.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would definitely break bread with the youth I mentor & make sure that they feel the love thats been shown to me. Make sure medical bills are paid. Invest in a good car for my family and ensure we can keep our house. Definitely throw a big party as a celebration to show thanks to all the Dad’s that have invested in my life! I didnt get here on my own.
