The most rewarding part of being a father is something that changes as they grow. Right now it is watching them become their own person. Having a front row seat to watch them learn how to walk, talk, problem solve, make friends, discover passions and develop values is some of the best rewards there is. It is also rewarding to grow and develop as a parent. Being a father encourages greater patience, empathy and perspective. I now strive for them to thrive and not just for personal achievement.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Growing up I did not have my father so one of my goals was to always be the best father I could possibly be. I strive to be the best father I can be because my children deserve to feel loved, supported, safe, and valued. I want to be someone they can always count on, not just to provide for them, but to listen, guide them, encourage them, and be there when life gets hard. They give me purpose and I want them to know they never had to earn my love. I strive for them to be the best they can be.
How would you use the $25,000?
If I were to win I would use the reward to continue to provide for my children. I want to add money to their savings, start college funds, take care of all of the things to give them a more comfortable life. In today’s economy it is difficult to be present daily and to be a provider. I work while they are in school and I’m a father immediately after. The $25,000 would help me maintain my presence and alleviate
