Too many to list! Unconditional love. Experiencing firsts together, that moment where their tiny hand finds yours. But if I had to choose, it's moments when THEY teach YOU. Patience -- as they learn something new, strength -- to walk in the door and play after a long day, courage -- to let them venture off on their own, and wisdom -- to help them navigate life's ups and downs. I love learning from my boys.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
They say you become for others what you never had for yourself. I never really had that father figure growing up, and I know that absence exists for so many. I want my sons, and the dads around me, to see what showing up looks like. Who needs fame & money when you know that someone is out there taking a weekend adventure with their kid, helping a neighbor or picking up trash because you inspired them to do it. That's real legacy, and that's what being the best dad is all about -- the real stuff!
How would you use the $25,000?
If it's for being a Super Dad - the right answer is on your family. I'd spend it on a family vacation and the rest towards our Men's Program at our family's gym; Friendship Fitness. We host a weekly free men's workout where we promote physical and mental well being to be better men, husbands and dads. We could use an equipment trailer to haul equipment to reach more men!
