Whenever my son learns something new, whether it's from me or somewhere else, I feel immense joy while he talks about the topic. Just as rewarding are all the little moments I have with him. When he walks up out of the blue to tell me and my wife he loves us, when he tells me a joke he made up on his own, or when he imagines a scenario and invites me to be a part of it.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
My dad did his best for a time, but there was more bad than good initially. I wanted to try really hard to be the dad I felt I missed out on at my son's age. By learning from experiences together I strive to gain what my dad might've been missing out on and treat my son differently than I was treated.
How would you use the $25,000?
A portion would go to a high yield savings account or IRA for my son. The rest would help me and my wife get back on our feet and provide a comfortable place for us to live that my son can call his own. I recently had a seizure while working that followed heart failure. Because of these two medical incidents I have been out of work and we are currently living with family. This money would help me change our situation as well as payback all those that have helped my family out.
