The most rewarding part about being a dad to me is showing my family new things that I wasn’t able to do or see when I was young growing up. My parents were very poor and I promised myself when I have the chance to have children that I would show them the world. Not to mention just being there. My parents never came to any of my games and I vow to myself that will never be me. Availability is going to be a big priority in my children’s lives. We are all that they have and you must show them
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I hate to sound like a broken record but my parents weren’t as active in my life growing up. I grew up on the streets of Brooklyn, NY and practically raised myself. I got a job very young because my parents were unable to provide for me and I will not let my children experience that at all. I make sure right now that my children have every opportunity that I didn’t have and will continue to do that until they are able to do it themselves. My main goal is to break that generational curse.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use the $25,000 to start building generational wealth for my children. I never had the opportunity to go to college when I was young and I want my children to go to college and be productive members of society. I would put the money in a 529 educational fund so they don’t have to worry about having money to go to college. I would also put the money towards a high yield savings account so that they can have a jumpstart once they are finished with school. I want them to be successful.
