Watching my son become his own man. Knowing that through every difficult season, every sacrifice, and every moment I questioned myself, I was still there. I got to witness every version of him while becoming a better version of myself. Fatherhood didn’t just give me someone to raise, it gave me purpose, accountability, and a reason to keep becoming the man I wanted my son to someday respect.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because my son deserves more than a father who simply provides. He deserves presence, guidance, emotional safety, discipline, affection, and an example of what integrity looks like. I know one day my voice will become part of his inner voice. The way I love him will influence how he loves himself and others. I’m not trying to raise a perfect son. I’m trying to raise a good man, and that requires me to keep becoming one myself.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use it to create opportunities and memories for my son that years of being a single father sometimes made difficult to provide. I’d invest in his future, education, experiences, and the things that help develop him into a confident young man. I’d also use part of it to strengthen the work I’m building around fatherhood and mentorship, so my journey raising my son can become something that helps other fathers and young men too.
