The most rewarding part of being a dad is watching my son grow into his own person and knowing I helped give him the confidence to keep moving forward. After surviving a serious motorcycle accident and learning to walk again, every conversation, school milestone, workout, and laugh with him means more. Being present in his education and everyday life reminds me that fatherhood is not just what I provide; it is the example, love, discipline, and time I give him.
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
I strive to be the best dad I can be because my son deserves a father who is present, dependable, and willing to lead by example. I want him to see that faith, discipline, compassion, and perseverance matter. Surviving a motorcycle accident and rebuilding my life taught me that setbacks do not determine our future. Every day, I try to show him that real strength means accepting responsibility, continuing to grow, and never giving up on yourself or the people you love.
How would you use the $25,000?
I would use the $25,000 to invest in my son’s future and expand 1st Step Boxing, the business I built around discipline, confidence, and mentorship. He is in seventh grade taking high-school-level classes and may graduate early, so part would support his education, academic opportunities, and future goals. I would use the rest to secure dependable training space, purchase safe equipment, and make quality boxing instruction more affordable for young people and families in Charlotte.
