Being a role model. Being a caretaker. Being there. The best part is being able to fail without feeling like a failure because you’re always teaching your children that it’s OK to fail. Everyone does. It’s how you move on from failure that defines you. It’s what you do with those lessons that matters 🧠
Why do you strive to be the best dad you can be?
Because I want to fill a void. Not just for myself, but for the many that have no father, have an absent father, or a father doing their best that is struggling. The things I teach my boys impact their peers and can be a light in dark times for those in need. Being a better Dad is being a better human. We need more of those. Doing my part 💯
How would you use the $25,000?
I have chronic illness. Long COVID has stripped me of being the partner and father I want to be, of being a business owner, of my identity… it has taken much. I will donate $500 every month for a year ($6K total) to a different person living with Long COVID. Also donating $4K to Iowa Skilled Trades. Rest of the money would be used to pay off debt that has accumulated over the years keeping me alive. There is no faster way to go bankrupt than to live with chronic illness. Keep pushing forward ✊
